This is “Living Origins”<\/strong><\/em> \u2013 a portrait of Joseph Brockdorff, who was one of Malta’s greatest media pioneers. The portrait was commissioned by his\u00a0son and daughter, through whom the family business lives on.\u00a0It hangs in the boardroom of BPC in Malta. The portrait was made of etched and patinated copper, bronze and brass. The three parts each measure 25×75 cm. <\/span>This short video<\/strong><\/a> shows the process of the portrait’s creation. (Best seen in high definition.)<\/span>Below is the photo that the portrait was based on. This was transferred by hand to the copper and etched as can be seen in the result on the right.\u00a0 Details of the work follow, as well as the full work shown from a different angle.<\/span>
