SLUUKI

Sluuki. A magical creature, created in my studio since the beginning of the year, now roaming free in the brand new school Rydsgårdsskolan near Skurup in southern Sweden.

Sluuki started its journey in this world on the roof of Rutgerskolan in Skurup, Sweden, in 1925. 95 years later the roof was replaced and the aged copper was transported to my studio, where I started to get acquainted with Sluuki. An intense transformation has taken place since the beginning of this year (in awesome collaboration with element29) and Sluuki has turned into a wild creature that thrives on adventures, knowledge and exploration!

In late May 2022 Sluuki travelled to Rydsgårdsskolan, accompanied by a “whirling stack of papers”, which Sluuki aims to devour at the first opportunity. (You see, there are few things that are as tasty as children’s drawings, books, letters and scribbled notes, stories and adventures…) And beyond this stack lies the school library – a veritable smorgasbord, if you ask Sluuki.

So this is where Sluuki lives now. In these gorgeous surroundings designed by Arkitektgruppen, expertly built by HL Bygg. (Working with dedicated professionals is an absolute delight!) And best of all – in a few months Sluuki gets too hang out with hundreds of young pupils on a daily basis!
