2. What we collect, why, and our legal basis

When you send us an enquiry (contact form or email): we collect the name, email address and any information you include in your message. We use this to respond to you and to discuss possible artwork, commissions or studio visits. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.

When you sign up for our newsletter: we collect your email address (and name, if provided). We use this only to send you updates about available works, exhibitions and studio events. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter.

When you visit the website: we and our providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, to understand how it is used, and for advertising measurement (including the Meta pixel). Legal basis: your consent, given through our cookie banner. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.

Server logs: our hosting provider automatically records technical data such as your IP address and browser type. This is used to operate and secure the website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site running and safe.

3. Cookies

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the website and our communications:

Oderland Webbhotell AB: website hosting (Sweden, EU).
Intuit / Mailchimp: newsletter delivery (USA).
Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (with onward transfer to Meta Platforms, Inc., USA): advertising and measurement via the Meta pixel.

Each provider processes data only on our instructions and under a data processing agreement.

5. Transfers outside the EU

Mailchimp and Meta are based in, or transfer data to, the United States. These transfers are safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which both providers are certified, and by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses as a further safeguard.

6. How long we keep your data

Enquiries: for as long as we are handling your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards. Where an enquiry leads to a sale or commission, related records are kept for as long as required by applicable Swedish accounting and tax law.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Cookies: for the periods set out in our Cookie Policy.
Server logs: for the limited period applied by our hosting provider.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

access the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate data corrected;
have your data erased;
restrict or object to our processing;
receive your data in a portable format;
withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out).
