Marie Louise Kold – portraits
My portraits are made of patinated copper or bronze, often built from many separate pieces, several of them from thousands of small squares. Each portrait is custom-made for its recipient. The likeness is a given, but not enough: I add layers of story and complexity that only reveal themselves on closer inspection.
This page shows a selection of the portraits I have made over the past 25 years. They vary widely in size, price and complexity, and have been commissioned by clients ranging from the Swedish Royal Court to multinational corporations to private individuals. Prices generally range from EUR 5,000 to 70,000 depending on size and complexity. Send me an email if you have a portrait in mind, whether one of these kinds or something entirely your own.
