Marie Louise Kold – architectural art and site-specific works
Most art hangs on a wall. Some of my work becomes the wall — built permanently into the fabric of a building, or created for a specific space from the ground up. Working in etched and patinated copper, bronze, and brass, I develop each piece in close dialogue with its space: its dimensions and the way people and light move through it. I love nothing more than art conceived for a particular place — whether a whole home, such as the forty-seven-piece work created for a family house in Spain, or a major installation for a public or corporate setting, such as the 5.5 × 2.8-meter wall built for Realdania’s reception in Copenhagen.
If you are planning a home, a reception, a boardroom, or a public building, and want art created for that space — or built into it — please contact me and we will take it from there.
